48x36" / 7/8" pour abstraction, landscape created in the fall of 2020. This painting is my third attempt at working with larger canvases intended for a specific space. In this case I need something for my hallway. The piece began as a massive vertical pour involving ultramarine blue, pearlescent green, titanium white, hansa yellow medium, and metallic gold. After the base layer dried, I turned the canvas clockwise 90 degrees, and added the grass like overlay using a flat brush and cobalt turquoise. A spatula was then used for streaking in order to better define the tall grass overlay effect.
