18x20" / 7/8" acrylic pour created in the spring of 2020. This piece is study in silicon cells. I mixed up pouring mediums using ultramarine blue, naphthol red light, light magenta and metallic gold. I combined all of them in layers using a single cup and dumped the contents on the center of my canvas. At this point, I used a needle applicator to inject silicon directly into the metallic gold visible mixture. I then tilted the canvas until the paint had spread out and covered the entire surface and edges. Finally, using a butane kitchen torch I applied heat to the exposed gold regions causing the silicon to react creating a subtle lattice of cells.
