24x30" / 7/8" pour abstraction created in the spring of 2020. This work is the fifth canvas in 5 panel set inspired by the pandemic. Using acrylic pour techniques, I attempt to re-create the spiked CORVID-19 molecule, which defined the branding of the pandemic in 2020. In this final panel, I attempt to build on the molecule depiction by adding a lattice of lines meant to denote cell walls. Additionally, the color scheme in this final piece is much darker meant to denote illness. The overall effect (or mood) is one of disease meant to scare or disgust the viewer. Yes, the branded molecule seen in the media and depicted in the other panels is symbolic and unique, but when it gets inside your cells it destroys.
