18x20" / 7/8" abstract created in 2019. This painting is the third canvas in a 4 panel series that explores the use of repeated shapes. Each of these pieces incorporates the use a 2" diameter round sponge to create circular shapes. In this panel, the sponge is used to create a 4x5 grid of grayish circles. Using a 1” fan brush dipped in a mixed palette of quinacridone red, pyrole orange and hansa yellow, I re-touched each circle with a single swirl. I repeated this process with a palette of ultramarine blue and titanium white.
