11x14" / 7/8" abstract created in the summer of 2020. This simple work explores the use of stencils on canvas. It began by covering the canvas with a layer of phthalo blue. I then placed a zigzag stencil on the center of the canvas. Using a sponge dipped in a mixed palette of cadmium red mixed with cadmium yellow dark, I applied color to the exposed areas of the stencil. After the work dried, I applied a layer of heavy gloss.
