18x20" / 1.25" pour abstraction created in December of 2020. This piece is an interpretation of a willow tree. The first layer defines the shadowed scaffolding of tree. To create this layer, I dumped two ounces of chalkboard black into the center of the canvas. Using palette knives and brushes, I maneuvered and moved the paint to form a tree like structure. In oder to create the drooping branches and leaves of a willow tree, I leaned the canvas against a wall and drizzled pyrrole red and orange from the top. The end result (or effect) is subtle study in color and shape.
