18x20" / 1.25" abstract created in December of 2020. I feel like every painting I have done this year was leading to this one. It captures the pain, struggle and just the sheer weirdness of everything that happened this year. The base layer is chalkboard black. The second layer (Image #2) is palette knife exploration of metallic gold, metallic green and titanium white. I thought the piece was done at that point, but then it snowed and the top layer began with a wash of cobalt turquoise. I then applied two Mandala 12x12" stencils using titanium white and chalkboard black. As a final effect, I dipped my hands in quinacridone red and applied to the top and bottom.
