18x24" / 1.5" abstract created in May 2021. This piece was born to be a compliment to Canvas 153 and Canvas 174 in order to create a loosely coupled 3 panel set. The palette combines shades of permanent green light, pearlescent green, light magenta, titanium white, metallic copper, and metallic gold. It is an exploration of stencils and texture. It began with a base layer of metallic gold. I applied stencils using green and magenta, and then sanded the entire surface to create washed out effect. In the third layer, I applied a stencil using a mixture of white and extra heavy gel matte in order to create cracks and ridges in the resulting pattern. Finally, because the piece is not meant for framing, I encased the work in resin and hardener.
